BIO:  

THE 5th L is the Baltimore-based, nationally traveled spoken-word poetry duo David Ross/Native Son and Femi The Dri Fish. They are an action packed spoken word experience that delivers performances with the skilled theatrics of a Broadway show, the high energy of rap artists and the poetic integrity of Langston Hughes.  They have shared stages with international recording artists such as Musiq Soulchild, Saul Williams, Ursula Rucker, Raheem DeVaughn, Fertile Ground, Jaguar Wright, and KRS-One.

THE 5th L has toured and performed in over 100 performance venues in 19 states and 60 plus universities/colleges within the United States, release 3 full length albums; Circle-Circle Dot-Dot, The Warter Margin, & RESET. They've appeared on BET's Lyric Cafe and were commissioned to write and perform material for the Mobtown Moon Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon 40th Anniversary, the Tennis U.S. Open, The Colorado Health Department, the Henrietta Lacks Symposium & the Visionary Art Museum. In response to The 5th L’s continuous work in the Baltimore city community, Reginald F. Lewis Museum has featured them and their works, as a permanent exhibit in the museum located in Baltimore City.

THE 5th L are known to produce and host events of their own as well, and have committed their talents to introducing creative writing & dramatic reading to elementary through high school students, afterschool programs, detention centers, as well as facilitate a violence intervention program at The University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center (VIP).
